John Chow

Mr. Chow is a native of San Francisco. He was born in Chinatown’s Chinese Hospital and graduated from Lowell High School.

Mr. Chow received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He then received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Chow participated in the Chinese Law Program at East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai, and the Japanese Law Program at Temple University Japan in Tokyo. During law school, Mr. Chow also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Julie Tang and Discovery Commissioner Richard E. Best of the San Francisco Superior Court. Mr. Chow graduated from law school with a Certificate of Specialization in International Law. He is licensed to practice before all California State Courts, the Northern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Chow currently serves as General Counsel to the Tai Shan Benevolent Association, Ying On Labor & Merchants Association, and Hoyping Seventh High School Alumni Association of America. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Chinatown Community Children's Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality childcare and other social services to meet the needs of new immigrants and bilingual/bicultural families in San Francisco.

Mr. Chow is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, Asian American Bar Association, Asian Business League of San Francisco, Asian American Contractors Association, Asian American Architects and Engineers, and Chinese Real Estate Association of America, Inc.

Mr. Chow is fluent in Cantonese, proficient in Mandarin and conversational in Japanese.
