Roberto Ripamonti

Mr. Ripamonti received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Language and Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles, participated in a cultural exchange program at Waseda University in Tokyo, and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California Hastings College of Law. While in law school, he served as both a member of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Journal and as translator and participant for the international law school exchange program between Hastings and the Osaka College of law in Osaka, Japan. He is licensed to practice before all California State Courts, and in the Federal Northern District of California.

Mr. Ripamonti’s areas of legal expertise include civil litigation, employment and personal injury. Prior to joining Tsao-Wu, Chow & Yee, Mr. Ripamonti worked in the intellectual property division of the U.S. subsidiary of a large Japanese Publishing conglomerate.

Mr. Ripamonti specializes in employment law, and has experience dealing with a range of employment issues, as both employer defense counsel and employee plaintiff counsel. He has dealt with race, disability, and sexual discrimination case, as well as wage-claim, overtime, and wrongful termination issues. Mr. Ripamonti has helped employers defend against EEOC and DFEH investigations and state Labor Board complaints, while also prosecuting employees' claims not just against private companies, but also State and Federal employers.

Mr. Ripamonti is fluent in Japanese, and well-versed in Japanese culture.
