Sam Wu
Mr. Wu was born in Hong Kong, but his family immigrated to the United States when he was three years old. He has been residing in the San Francisco Bay Area since then. Mr. Wu’s deep roots in the Bay Area include tutoring students of all ages in San Francisco’s Chinatown and attending the local schools. He graduated from Galileo Academy of Science and Technology.
Mr. Wu received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Wu then obtained his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Wu received numerous awards and recognitions, including being inducted into the Jesse W. Carter Society for Academic Excellence, the Honors Lawyering Program (HLP), and the Law and Leadership program. He graduated law school with a specialization in Litigation (with Distinction).
Mr. Wu served as the Ninth Circuit Survey Executive Articles Editor on the Golden Gate University Law Review. He was responsible for the publication of the Ninth Circuit Survey, the only law review journal dedicated solely to Ninth Circuit cases. In addition to have the Honorable Judge Kim M. Wardlaw contribute to an Introduction of the Survey, he also contributed by writing a Case Note on the appropriateness of using Tasers by law enforcement (“When Can I Tase Him, Bro?” – The Appropriateness of Using Tasers by Police in Bryan v. McPherson, 40 Golden Gate U.L. Rev. 361 – Spring 2010).
Mr. Wu is licensed to practice before all California State Courts, and in the Federal Northern District of California.
Mr. Wu is fluent in Cantonese.
